Bob Campbell, from Salvation Army Winston-Salem, told WXII 12 News the organization discovered the kettles were missing on Monday from a number of locations. Campbell said someone took kettles and rings from Hanes Mall, A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts on Silas Creek Parkway, Hobby Lobby on Hanes Mall Boulevard and Walmart off Peters Creek Parkway. All of the kettles were empty. Campbell said there is a real concern that someone might use the missing equipment to pretend to be a volunteer because real volunteers must have a sign and stand, in addition to the kettle, the apron and the bell.All of the Salvation Army locations in Winston-Salem can be found on their website. If people have concerns, they can use GooglePay and ApplePay and also donate online, Campbell said.
