The film received a mixed response from the film critics but is garnering huge applause from the audience as is clear from its box office numbers. The film received rave reviews from the critics, however failed to impress the audience. At the same time, the film is being applauded for raising an important social issue like acid attack and sensitively handling it. Chhapaak is directed by Meghna Gulzar.

Coming back to Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, the film saw some of the great performances by Saif Ali Khan, who plays Rajput Mughal fortkeeper Udaybhan Rathod, and Sharad Kelkar, who personifies Chhatarpati Shivaji Maharaj through his character in the 21st century.
