Netflix finally revealed the release date of its new docuseries about Vince McMahon. The streaming platform will debut “Mr. McMahon” on September 25. The company has also released a poster showing McMahon controlling a miniature version of himself with strings in a ring.
Netflix says the show will feature interviews with wrestlers and journalists who exposed some of McMahon’s alleged acts, McMahon’s family members, and the former WWE CEO. Bill Simmons and Chris Smith are producing the series. Chris Smith was also involved in “Tiger King,” a hit Netflix series.
In 2020, it was announced that Netflix would develop a McMahon-based docuseries with WWE Studios as an official partner. Netflix pulled the McMahon documentary from its schedule after the allegations against McMahon were made public in early 2022. A few weeks later, Netflix revealed that they were still working on a McMahon documentary. Since then, the focus has been shifted to include events from the past few years. WWE Studios was involved in the original project, but it is unknown if they are still officially involved.
