Illinois State Police District 16 announces November activity

PECATONICA — Illinois State Police District Cmdr., Capt. Carl Heintz announced the District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of November.

District troopers issued 715 total citations and 602 written warnings. Speed violations accounted for 353 citations. Ninety-eight citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 14 citations were issued for distracted driving violations.

Troopers investigated 60 traffic crashes and assisted 152 motorists. Sixty-three commercial motor vehicle inspections were completed with four drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service. Twelve arrests for driving under the influence were made.

Troopers conducted 22 school safety checks. Thirteen enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations.

District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago and Boone Counties, had four traffic fatalities in November.
