Ayushmann Khurrana, who had earlier worked with Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in films separately, treated his fans by sharing screen space with both of them in one film. Thanks to director Amar Kaushik, who brought three of them together in Bala. The film has been enjoyed by the audience for its unconventional storyline of premature balding in theatres. Not only did Bala received positive reviews from critics, the Ayushmann, Bhumi and Yami-starrer is also making good numbers at the box office. Speaking of that, the film will soon enter the Rs 100-crore club in its Week 2.
Bala, which opened to Rs 10.15 crore at the ticket windows, has made a total collection of Rs 82.73 crore. On Saturday, the film earned Rs 6.73 crore, which turned out to be a big jump from what it collected on Friday, i.e. Rs 3.76 crore. On Sunday (Day 10), the film is expected to reach the Rs 90-crore mark at the box office, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Kaushik’s film made Rs 15.73 crore on Day 2, Rs 18.07 crore on Day 3 and Rs 8.26 crore on Day 4. Then, Rs 9.52 crore, Rs 5.2 crore and Rs 5.31 crore on Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7 respectively.
Bala is running parallel to film Marjaavaan in theatres. Marjaavaan, which stars Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Riteish Deshmukh in the leads, had a decent opening with Rs 7.03 crore. Despite its competition with Ayushmann’s film and poor reviews from critics, Milap Milan Zaveri’s directorial venture is holding its ground.
Coming back to Bala, Ayushmann Khurrana has been giving back-to-back hits at the box office since his last few films, and this film has also turned out to be a blockbuster and the biggest opener of his career.
Earlier, it was Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Dream Girl, which earned Rs 10.05 crore on its first day. But now, Bala has taken over the position, as far as box office collections are concerned.
Bala hit the screens on November 8.
Before Bala, Ayushmann Khurana worked with Yami Gautam in his debut film Vicky Donor in 2012. On the other hand, Ayushmann shared screen space with Bhumi Pednekar in Sharat Katariya’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha, which released in 2015. Dum Laga Ke Haisha was Bhumi’s debut in Bollywood.
Ayushmann now has Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Gulabo Sitabo in his kitty. Bhumi will be seen in films like Pati Patni Aur Woh, Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare.
Yami has Puneet Khanna’s upcoming film Ginny Weds Sunny, in which she will share screen space with Vikrant Massey.
