Diamondbacks vs. Marlins: Roll with Arizona’s Robbie Ray

Our selections gone to hell this week, we look for divine guidance on this Sunday and read from the Book of John. “HELP! I need somebody. HELP! Not just anybody. HELP! You know I need someone. HELP!”

Now let’s try this again. We took the D’backs on Friday at Miami and watched the Marlins rally in the ninth to win. Robbie Ray (9-6, 162 K’s) throws for Arizona today. With interest in Ray at the trade deadline, scouts attended last week’s start against the Orioles and they left unimpressed after he allowed MLB’s worst lineup to score three times. Ray should rebound facing the Fish. Marlins’ Elieser Hernandez (1-4, 5.24) moves from the bullpen to the rotation. Play 10 units on the D’backs.

Whoomp, there it is. Andrew Benintendi and JD Martinez took CC Sabathia deep, and the Red Sox snapped our losing skid, beating the Yanks 9-5. Eduardo Rodriguez is now 13-4. The desperately needed W takes us to -741 variteks.
